When Harry sold Sulley

Sulley Muntari is on the verge of signing for Inter Milan from Portsmouth, admitting the opportunity is too good to turn down.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed he will sell midfielder Muntari to Inter, who are managed by Roberto Mancini.

The club stand to make a significant profit on the Ghanaian international, who joined from Udinese for £7 million last summer and seems set to join the Serie A champions for £12.7 million.

Muntari was in a philosophical mood when he spoke of his imminent departure.

While admitting he holds a great deal of admiration for FA Cup winner and paternal figure Redknapp, the allure of playing for one of the world's biggest clubs was too great.

He said: "There are teams when they come to you, you need to listen to them."

He added: "Harry has developed my game, he has been a father figure to me.

Muntari's transfer could help Redknapp to raise the £10million reportedly needed to table a bid for long-term target Shaun Wright-Phillips of Chelsea.

It may also stifle Rangers' attempt to lure midfielder Pedro Mendes to Ibrox, with the long-range specialist needed in Muntari's absence.
