Everton deny Johnson deal
Everton have denied accepting a £10.5 million offer from Fulham for Andy Johnson.
The England striker left Deepdale before Everton's friendly at Preston and a newspaper report hours later claimed Everton had accepted an offer from Fulham.
Johnson was expected to play in the match but he was pulled out of the squad after discussions with club officials.
But Everton chief executive Keith Wyness insists the London club have not tabled a bid for the striker.
He said: "Contrary to some reports that have surfaced throughout the course of today, the club can confirm that no offer has been received nor has any deal been agreed for Andrew Johnson with Fulham Football Club."
Everton manager David Moyes has hinted he needs to sell players this summer to fund new signings.
